When a Garment Draws Attention for the Wrong Reasons

I’m writing this because attention in clothing is often misunderstood.
There is an assumption that a well made garment should stand out, that it should attract notice and create a visible impression.
In practice, the opposite is often true.
A well considered garment does not draw attention to itself. It integrates. It supports the individual without becoming the focal point.
Attention, when it does occur, is often the result of something being slightly off.
A sleeve that twists, a collar that shifts, a jacket that requires adjustment. These small inconsistencies create subtle distractions. They are not always consciously identified, but they are registered.
This is where the distinction becomes clear.
The best garments are not the ones that are noticed.
They are the ones that remove the need to notice anything at all.
