Why Experience Matters More Than Appearance

I’m writing this because clothing is still largely evaluated visually.
The mirror provides a reference, but it is incomplete. It captures a moment, a controlled position, a version of the garment that does not reflect how it behaves in reality.
Experience fills that gap.
A garment may appear balanced when standing still, but shift once movement is introduced. Fabric may look clean initially, but fail to recover after hours of wear. Structure may feel supportive at first, then restrictive over time.
These are not visible flaws.
They emerge through use.
And they define whether a garment works or not.
The distinction is important.
Appearance creates the first impression.
Experience determines everything that follows.
